KAEA President
General scope of position
The position of President of KAEA is a leadership position.
Specific duties
1. Responsible for all KAEA business meetings and shall preside at the regular meetings of the Association and shall call any other meetings deemed necessary.
2. The president shall coordinate all conference events with the president-elect.
3. Appoint all standing and special committees. (Nominations, Awards, Media, Humanitarian).
4. Serve as liaison between the membership and the State Department of Education.
5. Appoint membership chairman and political action committee chairman.
6. Correspond with the membership through letter in quarterly Adult Educator newsletter.
7. Serve as a Kansas representative to AAACE.

The president-elect of KAEA is a leadership position. Specifically, the president-elect shall be responsible for KAEA's fall and spring conferences. In the absence of the president, the president-elect shall preside at board meetings. The president-elect shall work closely with the president to prepare for the presidency the following year.

1. Attend all KAEA board meetings.

2. Assist the president-elect with the annual KAEA conference.
3. Serve on committees as assigned.
4. Chair the nominating committee for the elected KAEA positions for the next year.

The past president of KAEA serves in an advisory capacity as well as a leadership capacity.

1. Attend all KAEA board meetings.
2. To serve as an advisor to the president.
3. To serve as chairman of the nominating committee.

KAEA Membership Chairman
General scope of position
The membership chairman of KAEA is a leadership position. This appointed position is administrative in nature.
Specific duties
I. To actively recruit members for KAEA.
2. To compile and maintain a membership list that is continuously updated with current members' names, addresses, and telephone numbers.
3. Attend all KAEA board meetings as an ex-officio member.
4 Supply membership list upon request of the editor of The Adult Educator or any member of KAEA.
5. To receive all members' dues and maintain an accurate record of fees collected.
To collect all conference registration fees and develop a conference attendance roster.
ALL MONEYS COLLECTED BY THE MEMBERSHIP CHAIRMAN MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE TREASURER OF KAEA WITHIN THREE (3) WORKING DAYS OF THEIR RECEIPT.

The position of secretary for KAEA shall be administrative in nature and shall be delegated the responsibility for organizing and maintaining current records of the organization. The secretary shall also be the custodian of all the properties and records of the Association.
Specific duties
1. Attend all KAEA board meetings.
2. Record the minutes of all KAEA board meetings and the annual awards luncheon/meeting.
3. Type minutes and disseminate to KAEA officer, KAEA directors, KAEA membership chairperson, MVAEA representative, AMCE representative, and the Kansas State Adult Education Specialist.
4. Keep a notebook of all minutes of meetings, including treasurer's reports and any other reports and/or correspondence in reference to said minutes.
5. Sign all KAEA membership cards.
6. Be responsible for incoming correspondence.

District Representative
General scope of position
The District Representative serves as the liaison between his/her district’s members and the KAEA Board. It is the responsibility of the District Representative to represent the views, opinions and needs of his/her district’s members as they relate to the overall goals and objectives of KAEA. The District Representative is selected from the congressional district in which he/she is employed.
Specific duties
1. Attend all KAEA board meetings.
2. Complete an annual Professional Development Needs Assessment of his/her district.
3. Facilitate appropriate professional development activities as determined by the Needs Assessment.
4. Report by consent agenda annually.

Kansas MVAEA Representative
General scope of position
The Kansas Delegate to Missouri Valley Adult Education Association is the liaison between adult education in Kansas and the Kansas Adult Education Association. The delegate serves as a non-voting ex-officio member of the KAEA Board of Directors. It is the responsibility of the delegate to represent the viewpoint of Kansas adult educators in voting on issues at MVAEA, actively recruit membership from Kansas, serve on ad-hoc committees of MVAEA, and assist in planning the annual MVAEA conference. In this capacity, the delegate is expected to attend all meetings of the MVAEA Board and assist in conducting the annual conference.
Specific duties
1. Attend all KAEA board meetings.
2. Report all activities of the MVAEA to KAEA.
3. Solicit membership to MVAEA.
4. Coordinate activities of both groups.
5. Have an ear to the KAEA Board regarding concerns and suggestions for the improvement of MVAEA.
6. Assure that the alliance with MVAEA is maintained.

1. Attend all KAEA board meetings.
2. Represent the Standards Council in all matters of business, which come before the KAEA Board.
3. Coordinate and be responsible for the scheduled staff meetings (KAEA spring conference, Summer Institute) and/or as needed.
4. Consult with the Standards Council Secretary regarding appropriateness of professional development activities submitted by the Director and/or designee.
5. Be responsible and approve all financial liabilities such as reimbursements, maintenance costs, and salary of the Council Secretary.
6. Assist all Standards Council area representatives in operating decisions when needed and provide an orientation for new members.
7. Perform all duties as appointed by the KAEA President.

2. Process all credential applications.
3. Process all renewal applications for credentialing.
4. Provide progress reports to the Standards Council chairperson for all board of directors meetings.
5. Send all monies received through the credentialing process to the treasurer of KAEA.
6. Provide quarterly updates to all adult education directors of due dates for re-credentialing.
This is a secretarial position.
Specific duties
1. Maintain an accurate database of all credential records.
